Encrypt/Decrypt

Nowadays, security is of utmost importance, especially for your important personal files. FilerFrog’s powerful file encryption uses a strong RC4 stream cipher encryption, which is used in popular protocols such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and WEP (to secure wireless networks), combined with a private password of up to 256 characters.

"Encrypt" Usage: Just select one or more files, right-click and choose Encrypt from the Security submenu, and enter a password. You would have the choice whether to keep or delete the original file.

The encrypted file is created in the same folder as the original, and with the same name as the original (including extension), plus a ".ffenc" extension, so you can see the original file's full name at a glance. A special FilerFrog icon shows you that the file has been encrypted.

"Decrypt" Usage: Decrypting files could not be easier. To decrypt and open a single file, just double click on it. (To decrypt multiple files that were encrypted using the same password, select them, right click and choose Decrypt from the Security submenu). Enter the correct password, and the original files will be decrypted.

Possible Scenario: You are an important business consultant and constantly on the move. You take your laptop with you everywhere - to customer sites, on business trips, and even on vacation. Maintaining the privacy of your clients' confidential data is critical to the success of your business and your reputation. You already have a firewall and antivirus software installed on your computer, but these only protect you from attacks from the Internet. What happens to your confidential files if your laptop is lost or stolen? Losing your computer doesn't have to mean losing your privacy. With FilerFrog’s powerful yet easy to use encryption system, your most important data is completely safe. Just Encrypt your files and folders and rest easy knowing your privacy is looked after. Decrypting is as easy as a double click, so you’re gaining security and not wasting precious time.
