Delete Empty Files
The Delete Empty Files command scans the selected files and folders and removes any that are empty. This helps you clean up clutter left behind by applications, failed downloads, or batch operations.
What Gets Deleted
- Empty files — Files with a size of zero bytes.
- Empty folders — Folders that contain no files or subfolders.
Usage
- Select the files and folders you want to check.
- Right-click and choose FilerFrog → Delete Empty.
- FilerFrog identifies and removes all empty items from the selection.
Example
After extracting an archive, you notice several zero-byte placeholder files and leftover empty directories. Select everything, run Delete Empty, and only the files with actual content remain.
Tip: If you select a folder, FilerFrog will scan its contents recursively to find and remove all empty files and subfolders within it.
Preview Before Deleting
Before any files are deleted, FilerFrog shows a preview dialog listing all empty files and folders that will be removed. Review the list and click Delete to confirm, or Cancel to abort.
Recursive Scanning
FilerFrog now scans subdirectories recursively, finding empty files and folders at every level — not just the files you selected directly.
