Settings
The Settings dialog lets you customize how FilerFrog appears in the context menu and how it handles updates. Access it by right-clicking in Windows Explorer and choosing FilerFrog → Settings.
Favorites Menu
FilerFrog offers many features, but you may only use a few of them regularly. The Favorites system lets you streamline the context menu to show just the features you care about.
Show in Favorites Submenu
Mark any FilerFrog feature as a favorite. Favorited items appear in a dedicated Favorites submenu at the top of the FilerFrog context menu, giving you quick access without scrolling through the full list.
Replace Main Menu
If you prefer a minimal context menu, you can choose to replace the main FilerFrog menu entirely with your favorites. When this option is enabled, only your selected favorites appear in the context menu — everything else is hidden. This keeps your right-click menu clean and focused.
Clear Recent History
The Copy & Move feature remembers recently used destination folders for convenience. Over time, this history can accumulate outdated entries. Use the Clear Recent History button to reset the list of recent copy and move destinations.
Auto-Update
FilerFrog can automatically check for new versions in the background. You can configure how often it checks:
- Daily — Checks once per day.
- Weekly — Checks once per week.
- Monthly — Checks once per month.
- Never — Disables automatic update checks entirely.
When an update is available, FilerFrog notifies you and offers to download and install the latest version.
Manual Update Check
You can also check for updates manually at any time. Open the About dialog (available from the FilerFrog context menu) and click the Check for Updates button. This performs an immediate check regardless of your auto-update schedule.
Feature Toggles
The Features section lets you enable or disable entire feature groups from the FilerFrog context menu. Uncheck any group you don't use to keep your right-click menu clean:
- Organize (Extract, Copy, Move, Delete, etc.)
- Rename
- Security (Encrypt/Decrypt)
- Split & Join
- Image Manipulation & Album
- Sort Desktop
- List of Files
Debug Logging
For troubleshooting, FilerFrog supports optional debug logging. To enable it, set the registry value EnableLogging (DWORD) to 1 under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\FilerFrog. Logs are written to %ProgramData%\FilerFrog\logs\filerfrog.log.
