Invert Selection

The Invert Selection command flips the current file selection in Windows Explorer. Files that were selected become deselected, and files that were not selected become selected.

Usage

  1. Select the files you want to exclude from your intended operation.
  2. Right-click and choose FilerFrog → Invert Selection.
  3. The selection is flipped — everything else in the folder is now selected instead.
Example

A folder contains 50 files and you want to select 47 of them. Instead of clicking 47 files, select just the 3 files you want to keep out, then use Invert Selection to select the remaining 47 in one step.

Tip: This works well in combination with other FilerFrog commands. For example, invert your selection first, then batch rename or move the newly selected files.

Select by Extension

The Select by Extension submenu (in the Organize menu) shows all unique file extensions in your selection. Click any extension to select all files of that type in the current folder — great for quickly selecting all .jpg, .pdf, or .mp3 files.
